The female staff on the Friday afternoon and Saturday afternoon were very rude, unhelpful and simply didn't want to be there. Almost ruined our experience.

The Friday when we arrived mid-late afternoon we were looking for a nice place to have a drink, and this was not the place on the Friday. There was 4 or 5 people in the whole complex (this isn't the venues fault as such, or is it?) but the female bar staff was so rude, blunt and miserable. We had one drink and left as we planned to return Saturday for dinner.

My partner and I were staying at the Marina Apartments next door and went to the Ale House a couple times during the weekend.

Came back Saturday about 4pm, Mary and Carly were the bar staff, miserable, inattentive and rude. Come 6pm we ordered meals and were blown away. The food was amazing. My partner had a BBQ chicken pizza, I ordered satay chicken skewers and crispy chicken burger. All the food was amazing! Not a bad crumb that was served. The female staff from about 6 onwards and the male staff were great. The experience got better and the food saved it completely.

Meals and service great! Unfortunately spoilt by blinding sun hitting our eyes that was coming in through the glass door. We closed the blinds that were above the door but staff opened them saying it was an exit so the blinds couldn't be closed. May I suggest blinds are bought that fit on the door so they can be closed without affecting the exiting of the door.

Executive appartment's we're all booked so we had a studio apartment on 3rd floor. Great view over the beach, very spacious, clean and all the facilities you could want. Thoroughly recommend the apartment. Right on top of Cooper Alehouse which was very convenient for excellent meals.

No value, no vegan, no service. Very disappointing. If this place was in a city it would not be in business. There is nothing vegan on the menu and the VERY meagre offering was $25! There is more to vegetarian/vegan than brown lentils! Other meals ranged from an OK steak, to reasonably good seafood, but they were all hugely overpriced. The service was sullen, deflating and verging on rude. Staff need some basic service training.

The waiting staff were not friendly at all. The bar staff were disinterested. The ordering staff were extremely unhelpful. My wife is vegan for health reasons and they made no effort to provide her a decent meal All she ended up with was a paltry amount on tasteless lentils, with a few bits of veggies and they still had the cheek to charge $25 for it. The rest of the meals were average pub standard only, which they charged restaurant prices for. The only good point was the view and that's what the one star is for. Take my advice and give it a big miss.Very tempted to write direct to Coopers as this place degrades their good name.
